Advanced Tools for Complex Water Challenges

Innovation solves problems that conventional approaches can't.

RESPEC invests in proprietary technologies and partnerships that give clients an edge.

Scenario Application Manager (SAM)

What it does:

  • Runs BMP scenarios in minutes vs. weeks
  • Prioritizes investments by cost-effectiveness
  • Measures progress toward water quality targets
  • Enables adaptive management throughout mine life

We've deployed SAM across Minnesota, Connecticut, and the Bighorn Mountains, including live forecasting at the Lapeerian project. It's now available for every HSPF-modeled watershed in Minnesota.

Transform watershed models into real-time decision-making tools.

"We match the right technology to the challenge—then scale it from lab to full build."

Misty CO₂™: Carbon Capture Meets pH Neutralization

  • Captures CO₂ from diesel engines for pH adjustment
  • Eliminates hazardous acid transport
  • Generates carbon credits
  • Permanently sequesters approximately 2,500 tonnes of CO₂ per million m³ treated

Additional Technologies

Saturated Rock Fill (SRF )

SRF reactors leverage native microbes for in situ treatment. At some British Columbia mines, SRFs treat up to 77,500 m³ per day, removing nitrate and selenium underground. With DNA/RNA sequencing, microbial communities can be monitored to optimize performance.

Microseismic Monitoring

Risk management for mine inflows and injection operations. Our team uses microseismic data to monitor formation pressures, flow rates, and mine stability, which are critical for potash disposal wells and underground injection control (UIC) applications like Mosaic projects. Real-time data prevent costly failures and ensure compliance.

Why Technology Matters

  • Data-driven decisions through real-time modeling
  • Adaptive management responding to changing conditions
  • Access to cutting-edge treatment unavailable elsewhere
  • Enhanced subsurface understanding for safer operations

These tools exist because clients needed better answers than conventional approaches could provide.
