RESPEC assists with the initial site investigation, including existing documentation and data review, data mining, and geologic mapping. We also help prepare preliminary site assessment reports and recommendations for initial-stage development activities.

RESPEC partners with the specialists needed to complete each project efficiently with the right expert for the project. To supplement our in-house expertise, as needed, we have established partnerships with many subject matter experts, such as specialist geophysicists, geochemists, modelers, or geologists.

Surface Exploration

Surface reconnaissance performed by RESPEC typically consists of visiting active geothermal manifestations and reviewing existing data of a study area to form the basis of a conceptual model to guide further exploration activities.

Our services include:

On-site sampling and evaluation of geochemical characteristics, such as temperature, conductivity, pH, flow, and analysis of dissolved gases and solids
Review of geologic and geographical data, such as maps, cross sections, existing regional and local structures, fault kinematics, seismic activity, and mineralogy
Geophysical surveys and analysis of magnetics, gravity, and magnetotellurics
Monitoring and instrumentation

Preliminary Studies

RESPEC integrates all available information into conceptual models to target further exploration or prove resource potential for direct-use and power-generating applications.

Our services include:

Two- and three-dimensional mapping based on geologic data
Geophysical surveys and interpretation
Passive micro-seismic monitoring
Reservoir and resource characterization based on existing well data

Drilling Exploration

Drilling the first wells in any project represents the period of greatest risk. By first completing less expensive studies and developing a conceptual model, RESPEC helps clients mitigate this risk by selecting drilling targets that will help further understand or demonstrate a site's commercial potential.

Our services include:

Identifying locations for test wells
Drilling, data logging, and flow testing of exploratory wells
Energy reserve estimation
Potential power generation or direct-use evaluation

Feasibility Studies

After drilling exploration wells the RESPEC team will develop a “bankable” feasibility study and financial analysis to support a commercial decision.

Our services include:

Development of production well design
Conceptualization of resource production, power generation facilities, and transmission lines
Estimating capital and operating/maintenance budgets
Estimating terms of a power sales agreement
Modeling key commercial indicators, such as return on investment, net present value, and payback
